This section, specifically vs 27, has been called his purpose statement for the rest of the letter. Unity is a major theme. The words one, together, & same show up frequently in this letter that explains how to have joy. We all need this one!

If for me to live is Christ then to die is gain. This is a conditional syllogism. If my life is all about Christ then my death is a gain. That is the only way it works. If life is not about, all about Christ then death should be feared. Come and see the witness to Paul's singular devotion to his King.
