God is our supply & supplier.  Great peace & comfort is found in our text today.

Peace in the Flesh

Sometimes we just need to have spiritual realities 'enfleshed' or 'fleshed out' for us.  That's the point that the imprisoned, impassioned apostle makes in the oft overlooked vs 9.  The context drives us back to vs 2 to see this whole section as a path to relational peace.  Good, solid, practical truth.  

What are you Thinking?

We do a lot of 'thinking' on any given day.  How many of those thoughts are we bringing under the authority of King Jesus?  Paul presents a list of pondering fodder that will lead to Peace.  We would do well to pay close attention.  

Naming Names

Paul just comes out and called out the 2 saints who are in a stubborn disagreement.  What are the take aways for us today?  I bet there are a few.

Who to Mimic

Is Saint Paul being arrogant after giving one of the most powerfully poignant polemics on humility in all of Scripture when he says, "follow me as I follow Christ"?  Most likely no.  Instead, He's being honest.  Listen as veteran Pastor, Shepherd & Preacher Rev. Future Focused Forgetting

When the Past knocks, don't answer - it has nothing new to say.  Paul said he 'forgot' (ignored) the past list of accomplishments that he now put in the category of sewage.  He's too busy pushing, straining, reaching ahead for the glory of King Jesus.

Paul’s answer - certianly nothing that I have done.  I’m counting on my Master King Jesus & His perfect record which is given to me by faith.  The Flesh will fail you.  Faith will see you home.
